Senior Manager of Analytics Needed in NYC

The client is looking for a proven leader to establish a web and data analytics team for the division’s research-related products and services.  The successful candidate will exhibit a high degree of curiosity and the ability to work autonomously to plan and execute ad-hoc analyses that create insights that will guide business and product development.  In addition, he or she will be able to create and implement web measurement strategies that produce ongoing usage reporting for customers and key performance indicators for product managers/marketers.
Responsibilities
Web analytics:  Define measurement strategies, implementation specifications and reporting capabilities for complex, web-based services.  Conduct diagnostic metrics and ad-hoc analyses to better understand end-user behaviors. 

Data and content analytics:  Set up the SAS-based analytical environment and establish linkages to data sources.  Define and implement analyses of end-user data, including historical usage patterns, content sourcing, and sharing.  Investigate use of end-user data to create social computing applications.  Analyze overall content consumption, content availability through existing licenses and overlaps/gaps with available or competing content collections to drive content licensing strategy.

Team leadership:  Develop and mentor a small analytics team.  Provide thought leadership and hands-on guidance to team members.  Champion the benefits of analytics within Research Solutions and the overall organization.

Qualifications

– 5-7 years experience performing advanced analytics for information or e-commerce products

– Advanced SAS programming skills

– Track record implementing web analytics, ideally using Omniture SiteCatalyst

– Experience managing web/data analysts

– The ability to manage ambiguity and work autonomously
– Excellent communication and presentation skills
– Capable of turning complicated analyses into actionable insights
– Bachelor’s in statistics or mathematics (advanced degree preferred)
