Job Description

The Senior Digital Project Manager is responsible for the flawless execution of digital programs for this rapidly expanding, fast paced, independent relationship marketing and digital healthcare agency.  The Senior Digital Project Manager serves as a partner for the Account team, assuming responsibility for planning, directing and coordinating all digital delivery activities for integrated client programs.  The ideal candidate will have strong project management and communication skills with a proven background in overseeing and delivering complex project schedules and scope on time and on budget.  The Senior Digital Project Manager will have the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines, and be a motivated self-starter.  This person provides support for day-to-day operations and requires a command of digital initiatives.  Instinctively “rolling up one’s sleeves” on projects is an essential work characteristic.

Key areas of focus include:

  • Coordinate flawless execution of digital programs and platforms including websites, tablet PC details, e-communication tactics (e.g., email, banner, social, mobile) display, search etc. for existing clients including:
    • In partnership with account, analytics/operations, technology and client stakeholders, coordinate the implementation of relationship marketing platforms for consumer and professional audiences including database and technology integration, timeline and deliverables management
    • Manage interdisciplinary team of visual designers, writers, interaction designers, and programmers helping to evolve creative concepts into clear sets of deliverables in a way that balances client requirements with premium creative design
    • Develop and publish detailed milestone schedules; update and revise schedules as needed, troubleshooting to determine work-arounds to remain in scope and on time
    • Communicate digital project status and implementation needs to clients
    • In coordination with the Account team, establish budgets and track and report weekly on expenses
    • Coordinate all digital studio activity and needs
  • Develop and manage the Project Management Plan for the project, including Integration, Scope, Time, Cost, Quality, Resources, Communications, and Risk Management
  • Proactively lead multiple technology projects simultaneously
  • Oversee the management of multiple outsourced development partners
  • Ensure project objectives / requirements are clear and agreed to by all stakeholders
  • Facilitate project management activities across the entire SDLC
  • Plan, estimate, budget, and control costs to ensure projects are completed within approved budget
  • Troubleshoot improvements where necessary / appropriate to improve operational efficiencies
  • Formulate risk mitigation strategies and recommend solutions
  • Track and manage to resolution and report on issues and defects
  • Track scope and priority changes and their impact on the cost/timeframe of the project delivery
  • Track errors and delays and determine project impact from a cost and business impact
  • Communicate / report project progress related to schedule, work performance and finance to necessary stakeholders on a regular basis
  • Ensure all client materials meet expectations (from content to quality), are on strategy and delivered on time

The ideal candidate should have the following background:

  • 8+ years of Information Technology experience in successful project management and execution involving major development and / or system integration projects including system analysis, development, implementation, and maintenance of large-scale projects
  • 2+ years experience creating test cases and executing all levels of testing
  • Familiarity with cross-channel strategies, including online branding and relationship marketing programs as well as media campaign management
  • Must have demonstrated intermediate to advanced skills in MS Project, MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Visio and extensive knowledge of Internet technologies
  • Working knowledge of web analytics and SEO / SEM
  • Demonstrated ability to gather information and problem solve; strong written and presentation skills; knowledge of business and ability to work with a team
  • Ability to manage time effectively, meet deadlines in a fast paced environment, prioritize, work efficiently and take initiative
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Deep understanding of the entire SDLC with the ability to educate project team on process and deliverables
  • Ability to manage multiple complex, multifunctional projects across multiple locations simultaneously using structured, predictable processes
  • Demonstrated success communicating across a variety of audiences, including clients and technologists
  • Ability to effectively interface and work in conjunction with a wide range of team members across various disciplines and departments.
  • Working understanding of all facets of web development, including strategies, design and implementation
  • Business Analysis skills, requirements gathering and documentation
  • Professional attitude, work ethic and a solid team player with a high level of organization and the ability to multi-task, work independently and problem solve
  • Understanding of Photoshop, FLASH, 3D, CSS, HTML, PHP a plus
  • Consulting background a plus
  • Experience working within the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry a plus
  • Agency side experience working in the project management/producer function a plus
