Senior .NET Developer

My client is an online publisher that is looking to hire a senior developer/technical lead who has extensive experience in creating web sites and other interactive products using HTML/CSS, C# and ASP.NET. The ideal candidate will be a motivated problem-solver with an positive, inquisitive attitude and previous management experience.  This candidate will also be well versed in a broad variety of web technologies — not solely focused on Microsoft-based development methodologies – and will preferably be from a Media or Agency background.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Provide project methodology and deliver mechanisms and structure to the developers

Collaborate with designers and product managers during the design process, especially to guide interface usability and help provide suggestions as to how to best utilize existing tools/data/services.

Assist in project planning efforts by providing technical expertise and development time estimates

Oversee and develop cutting-edge C#/ASP.NET web applications, as well as being a hands-on contributor during the full-life cycle of the development process spending 25% of your time on design and 75% on development

The ideal candidate will be a motivated problem-solver with an positive, inquisitive attitude and will also be well versed in a broad variety of web technologies.

REQUIREMENTS

Expert knowledge and solid working experience designing efficient, cross-browser user-facing websites.  Extensive experience in handling variations across different browser versions, including Safari, MSIE 7/8, Chrome, Firefox and Opera.

Expert knowledge of CSS, XHTML, HTML, DOM, JavaScript & AJAX concepts.

Extensive experience in C#/.NET a plus.

Experience in working with RSS / JSON / REST services. 

Advanced JavaScript knowledge with JQuery a definite plus.

Working knowledge of Flash, Photoshop and Illustrator.

Associate Web Developer

Position Summary

The Associate Web Developer works with the Manager of Web Development in collaboration with designers and members of the marketing team to develop and maintain all content on client website.

The Associate Web Developer is a new role that reports to the Managing Director of Digital Initiatives for marketing team. The client is a non-profit organization.

The Associate Web Developer will play a key role in several major marketing initiatives, including a complete overhaul of the website’s design and codebase.

 

Responsibilities

 

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 

  • Working with the Manager of Web Development to design, code, and test new dynamic site features
  • Executing all front-end web development, including content updates, implementing design changes to site templates and so on
  • Coding HTML e-mails for marketing campaigns
  • Working with the Manager of Digital Analysis to customize Google Analytics and Google Web Optimizer code
  • Creating and updating graphics in consultation with in-house designers

Qualifications

Education and experience 

  • 1-3 years of experience in web development, including front-end and programming work
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in computer science or a related field
  • Experience working with technology, marketing, and design teams 

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Proven experience programming in Python, Ruby, and JavaScript; and in working with AJAX and REST
  • Expertise coding standards-compliant XHTML/HTML and CSS
  • Experience working with web frameworks, such as Django and Rails
